Forest Fields Improvement Association came about from an idea from a local resident to get a grant for hanging baskets. Following this initiative an association of residents was formed initiated by the Partnership Council in the spring of 2008 and a number of community projects have been organised since.

- 100+ Replanting of baskets 2009
- 150+ Replanting of baskets 2010 (flowers from Nottingham Bloom)
- Community Cricket Match involving the Community police and local people
- Public meeting on the planning application of a Supermarket in our neighbourhood
- Community Walk in the Peak District
- Community Meals
- Teenage Music Event and Cafe
- The Peoples Kitchen – catering for 70 people at the Sumac Centre including entertainment
- Noel St Leisure Centre Community Day – inc. cafe, exhibition, sports hall activities and community water polo skills and match
- Community Bicycle Repairs Project
- A Community Allotment has now been established at Whitemoor Allotments 2010 open to local people
- Regular contact with local authorities including Community Police, Youth Services, City Council Officers and Councillors
